Sandy Hook Promise released a heartbreaking back-to-school PSA

In 2012, 26 people, including 20 children between the ages of 6 and 7-years-old were brutally shot and killed in the safety of their school – Sandy Hook Elementary. Following one of the most horrific mass-shootings in history, “Sandy Hook Promise” was formed to train students and adults to know the signs of gun violence so that school shootings, which are becoming increasingly common, can be prevented.

As a PSA for the back-to-school season, the non-profit organisation shared a heartbreaking look at what it is like to experience a shooting as well as making commentary on how children should feel going back to school – excited and ready to show off their new summer buys – but, due to the current state of the world, how terrified a lot of them tragically do feel.
