Priyanka Chopra will star in a superhero movie on Netflix

Priyanka Chopra seems to be in the news a lot this week. This time round though, its nothing controversial. The Indian actress will be seen in ‘We Can Be Heroes’ next, directed by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, who has previously worked on movies that include ‘Spy Kids: The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl’ and ‘Shorts’, had a release earlier this year when he made ‘Alita: Battle Angel’, the big budgeted adaption.

‘We Can Be Heroes’ will also be a kids project, which is being exclusively created for Netflix, where Rodriguez will not write and direct but also produce the movie.

The movie, which also stars Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), YaYa Gosselin (The Purge), and Akira Akbar (Captain Marvel), is currently under production in Texas. The plot line revolved around some aliens that have invaded the earth and kidnapped its superheroes, leaving the heroes’ kids to unite and come to the rescue of their parents.

And while Netflix has been shying away from projects that are cantered around superheroes and focus more of its resources of romcoms recently, this movie sets itself apart, which might be the main reason why the company decided to make an exception.
