Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will livestream prayers for Ramadan

[ad_1]

With mosques continuing to remain closed to avoid the spread of coronavirus, the spirit of Ramadan surely feels different this year.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi has announced that it will livestream daily tarawih prayers so that Muslims can safely watch from home. Two worshippers will be granted permission to perform the prayers at the mosque, but must adhere to all the safety regulations. Regular screenings will be conducted as well. This will be available on state television channels and radio channels across the country.

The UAE’s largest mosque has made this move to preserve traditions practiced during the holy month. Since places of worship were closed down last month, The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) had announced that the tarawih prayers can be held at home, preferably being led by the head of the household reading verses from the Quran.
