Parents are hiring a terrifying clown to scare their naughty children

Parents will do just about anything to get their children to behave. Sometimes, however, these measures err more onto the side of pure torture. In a new documentary, Wrinkles the Clown, a 65-year-old man opens up to his world of being, well, a clown.

During the documentary, Wrinkles talks about how people pay him, “a few hundred dollars”, to attend birthdays, scare misbehaving kids, and prank people.

In an interview with the Washington Post, he explains how he was hired to terrify a mother’s 12-year-old son, saying, “he was scared of clowns and I showed up across the street from him at the bus stop and he just started crying in front of his friends and ran home. His mother called back a few days later and said ‘Thank you!’ Now when he acts bad, she just has to ask him: ‘Do you want Wrinkles to come back?’”

He sees his work as a service for kids nowadays, “I’m just a good old-fashioned clown,” he said. “When I was a kid, it was okay to scare kids and now they’re all whiny and scared.” Throughout, Wrinkles remains in-character, refusing to reveal his true identity.

But, Wrinkles has been something of a legend for years now. In fact, a YouTube channel named “HvUseen Wrinkles,” was set up to document sightings of him.
