Pharrell, Alicia Keys and several others will headline this year’s Global Citizen Festival

Global Citizen Festival, a movement to end extreme poverty by the year 2030, has a fresh new line up of top artists this year.

The event, which will take place on the Great Lawn in Central Park, New York, will be a free-ticketed event for all its attendees.

Queen (with Adam Lambert), Alicia Keys, OneRepublic, H.E.R, and Pharrell Williams alongside Carole King are all slated to perform live during this year’s edition.

In addition to this star-studded list, French Montana, Ben Platt, and Jon Batiste & Stay Human will give guest performances. Global Citizen Festival 2019 will be hosted by Deborra-lee Furness and Hugh Jackman for the sixth time in a row.

The organization released a statement saying, “Building on momentum by activists from across the globe and coinciding with the annual UN General Assembly meetings, Global Citizens will stand together and call for government, businesses, and philanthropists to uphold their responsibilities towards fighting deadly infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, tuberculosis and polio, empowering women and girls around the world, combating plastic pollution to protect the poorest parts of the planet, and building global human capital through quality education, skills, and health.”

Last year’s Global Citizen Festival saw artists such as The Weeknd, Janet Jackson, Shawn Mendes and Cardi B headline the event.

It was announced back 2015 that Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin will be the festival curator for the next 15 years.

The event will be live-streamed on Youtube and Twitter.
