Snapchat makes searching for lenses easier with voice commands

So you see another Snapchatter use this cool new lens but he ain’t sharing? Fear not, you can talk your way to that lens.

At the virtual Snap Partner Summit today, Snapchat announced Voice Scan, where one can use voice commands to find the lenses one is looking for among Snapchat’s thousands.

To use Voice Scan, users press and hold the viewfinder and then describe what they are searching for. In practice, this means that saying “make me a baby” you should find the right lens to infantilize you.

Voice Scan is the result of a partnership with the SoundHound, which while well known as a music search app, also works in the B2B space offering voice command services to other companies.
