In a bid to provide premium entertainment, Apple TV Plus has scored itself an important deal. The company has bought worldwide rights of Tom Hanks’ new movie, Greyhound from Sony Pictures, which was originally set to release in theatres on Father’s Day in June.

Apple TV Plus has won the bid for the movie, but is yet to disclose when it will premiere the movie on its platform. The movie is set in the early days of World War II, where Tom Hanks is seen to be reprising the role of ‘Captain Ernest Krause’ who crosses the North Atlantic while being pursued by Nazi submarines.

The trailer of the movie first appeared in early March, with a cast that co-stars Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan and Elisabeth Shue. The movie has been directed by Aaron Schneider. Greyhound is one amongst other movies that have now resorted to premiere online, due to the coronavirus pandemic putting a halt to cinema-going.
