WeWork is finally in the UAE.
In what should be another feather for Abu Dhabi’s tech ecosystem, WeWork has teamed up with Hub71 to open up its first space in the UAE within Abu Dhabi Global Market on Al Maryah Island.
The WeWork space will encompass three floors of workspace offering 1200 desks for members. According to a statement, its first members moved in earlier this month, including fro within Hub71’s community.
According to the statement, WeWork x Hub71 will offer both large and small organizations cost-efficient, flexible, and scalable workspaces.
The launch coincided with the announcement that four new startups – Jordanian company Rizek, UAE-based fintech companies Sarwa, denarii cash and US-based Securrency, a New York founded pioneer of blockchain technology – have been admitted into the Hub71 Incentive Program, bringing the total number of startups at Hub71 to 39.
Ibrahim Ajami, Head of Ventures – Mubadala Capital and Acting CEO of Hub71, said that the WeWork x Hub71 community was a fundamental part of our strategy to enable entrepreneurs with differentiated offerings.
A second WeWork space is slated to open on March 1 in Dubai within the Trade Centre district.
