It’s not a new phenomenon, in fact, it’s something we frequently repeat – don’t do stupid things on social media. Unfortunately, these men didn’t quite grasp the concept. Dubai Police arrested three residents who filmed themselves pretending to smoke an illegal substance and then posted the video on social media.

“We spotted the video on social media platforms and arrested the three men. They have been referred to competent authorities for legal action,” the deputy director of the emirate’s anti-narcotics department, Colonel Khalid bin Moyazeh, said.

According to Dubai Police’s official Facebook page, Colonel Khaled Bin Moyazeh called on the public not to share these videos in matters related to drug abuse, as they pose a risk to the individual’s health and life and may lead a number of people to experience the idea of drug abuse. The post also underlines that the police Dubai have a zero tolerance policy for the dealing, promoting or trading of illegal substances, as well as shooting videos that contribute to spreading ideas that are harmful to society and contribute to the spread of negative ideas.

It also highlights Federal law no. (5) of 2012 on the fight against information technology crimes provides in article no. 29 that “a temporary prison and a fine of not exceeding one million dirhams shall be punished by any information, news or data On a website or any information network or technical means to damage the reputation, prestige or status of the state or any of its institutions “

The men are currently awaiting trial.
