Harry and Meghan will no longer cooperate with the tabloids

The Duke and Duchess are cutting ties with four U.K tabloids, stating that “here will be no corroboration and zero engagement,” in a letter issued to the editors last night. These four publications include, The Sun, The Express, The Mirror and The Daily Mail. Not only does the royal couple disagree with their styles of reporting but also believe that these media outlets have “pulled apart” many individuals’ lives.

Meghan and Harry will maintain a “zero engagement” policy against these newspapers, and disregard any queries made from its journalists. The strongly worded letter also said that they both refuse “offer themselves up as currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion.”

While both Harry and Meghan believe in free press, they are “standing up for what’s right, challenging power, and holding those who abuse the system to account.” The letter continues to clear out that this is in no way to avoid criticism, and that the “media have every right to report on The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, good or bad. But it can’t be based on a lie.”

This move comes after the pair has voiced their concerns over their invasion of privacy on countless occasions.
