Whether you love or hate Frozen 2, (if you hated it, are you okay?) one thing we can all agree on is that the film hosts a whole lot of vocal talent. With the incredible Idina Menzel, Kristin Bell, Josh Gad, Evan Rachel Wood and Jonathan Groff. But, there may be one voice in the line-up that you’re not quite familiar with, I know I wasn’t.
AURORA, the 23-year-old singer behind the voice of “The Voice/Siren” who calls to Elsa, is a Norwegian artist whose vocals and style are reminiscent of the likes of Sia and Billie Eilish. Her first album, All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend hit number 1 on Norway’s charts, 28 on the UK’s and 150 on the US’.
It’s no secret that AURORA’s songs are not exactly Disney-esque, with a lot of them feeling dark, haunting and soul-bearing. During an interview with Culture Trip, she said: “I only write about the things that grind in my mind; the things I wonder about, or can’t figure out. Emotions I can’t explain, or the kinds of sorrow I can’t escape. Music is a tool in my heart to use against all of that. I think [about] my music, and [my] mind is very drawn to the dark side of things, because that makes me wonder the most.”
