When news about the beloved Disney star, Cameron Boyce passing away broke a few days ago, fans, friends and family of the actor were not just devastated but shocked at his sudden demise.

Boyce, 20 years old, who passed away in his sleep, now has a foundation in his name. The Cameron Boyce Foundation aims to provide “young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy to positive change in the world,” reads the website.

Boyce’s parents, Victor and Libby want to celebrate their son’s life and keep his memory alive through the foundation. “The pain we have endured and are continuing to endure is indescribable, but we are making every effort to move forward and ensure that Cameron’s legacy and all that he stood for is honoured,” they said in a statement.

The child actor himself was deeply passionate about giving back to the community. PeopleMagazine reported that Boyce was in fact also working on a campaign against gun violence, titled ‘Wielding Peace’. He was also heavily involved with ‘The Thirst Project’. Such was his impact on humanitarian projects that Michelle Obama too posted a grieving message for him, saying, “not only did he have incredible talent, but also an incredible heart”.
