Events worldwide have had to adapt to these changing times by becoming digital. The Emmys, which are one of the most important set of awards for anyone in the show business, is all set to return this September, with this year’s edition being held online.

The show will be hosted by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and will take place on September 20. No further details have been revealed regarding the format of the event, as Jimmy Kimmel shared in a statement, “I don’t know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this, but we are doing it and I am hosting it.” Some sources have gone on to say that the committee is exploring various options that include some non-traditional elements.

“We know Jimmy Kimmel will deliver a uniquely entertaining, funny and moving Primetime Emmys show,” said ABC Entertainment’s president, Karey Burke. “He’s a true master of ceremonies who reveres this industry and its people; and just as Jimmy has done with his own show over the past few months, he will tackle this momentous event with heart and humor, and bring some much-needed joy and optimism to our television colleagues and viewers at home.”

This will be the third time that Kimmel will be hosting the Emmys and this year will mark awards’ 72^nd edition.
