Tom Hanks is a gift to the world, and there’s no denying it. After testing positive with coronavirus last month and recovering, both Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have signed up to donate blood in a bid to help during the vaccine research.
Both Wilson and Hanks, who were quarantined in Australia before returning to L.A a few weeks ago, have continued to self-isolate. During an interview on NPR’s podcast, Wait Wait..Don’t Tell Me!, Hanks shared that the couple will be donating their blood and plasma for coronavirus research.
“A lot of the questions [are] what do we do now? Is there something we can do? And, in fact, we just found out that we do carry the antibodies,” he said. “We have not only been approached, we have said, ‘Do you want our blood? Can we give plasma?’”
He continued to joke, saying that if the vaccine is in fact developed from his blood donation, he would like it to be called, ‘Hank-ccine.’
The actor appeared for an interview last week telling the world how his symptoms varied from his wife’s during quarantine, but assured fans that both him and Wilson are now feeling much better after successfully battling the virus.
