Man pulls over to help "injured" leopard and gets shocking surprise

Imagine driving down a highway and coming across an injured exotic animal lying on the side of the road. That’s exactly what did NOT happen to father-of-two Ben Lilly. Lilly was travelling down a major road in the UK on a Saturday morning when he discovered what appeared to be a leopard lying immobile on the side of the road.

After deliberation, Lilly remembered reports of other big cats which had been sighted in the area and decided to pull his vehicle over and attempt to rescue the animal. However, he did not want to get too close to the animal for fear of having his face ‘ripped off’.

Lilly detailed the entire incident on Facebook, writing, “I saw something in the distance as I was coming round the bend and slowed down, giving it a wide berth in case it was an injured animal. As I passed it, I looked out the passenger’s window and saw the markings on it. It had the tail bit on it too, so it looked really real while I was driving. I thought ‘wow’. You hear of these sightings of big cats and around the Halifax area, there have been reports before. I spun round where I could and drove back along. I looked again – it looked real. I then parked behind it and looked from within the car.”

One Lilly had approached the carcass, he then discovered it was, in fact, not a wild leopard, but simply a printed onesie, abandoned on a Friday night.
