Globally, weather conditions are becoming more and more unpredictable. With temperatures reaching record highs and record lows in various parts of the world, wildlife is being massively affected. In Florida, residents have started noticing one creature in particular struggling with the current record-low temperatures.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami posted a warning iguanas becoming immobilised by the cold temperatures and subsequently falling from trees.
NWS wrote on Twitter: “This isn’t something we usually forecast, but don’t be surprised if you see iguanas falling from trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s. Brrrr!”
The lizards are not dead, however, they are just temporarily “frozen,” as one user demonstrates by moving one into a warmer spot when it defrosts and scurries away.
