Disney has confirmed that development for Captain Marvel’s sequel has begun.

Starring Brie Larson as ‘Carol Danvers’ aka Captain Marvel, the 2019 blockbuster made approximately $1.13 billion on the box office worldwide. The studio Is currently sealing the deal for the sequel with Megan McDonnell who is a staff writer on the Marvel-based series, “WandaVision”. This show is set to debut later this year on Disney Plus.

The first ‘Captain Marvel’ saw Danvers’ journey in becoming Captain Marvel after the earth is caught in between a galactic conflict in 1995. The star-studded cast included Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and Jude Law to name a few. It was also Marvel’s first female-centric movie that won rave reviews all around the world, putting Larson on the Avengers map.
