In the days leading up to Christmas, Hollywood star Zac Efron was rushed to hospital in Australia. In what was described as a ‘life-or-death’ flight, Efron was flown to a Brisbane hospital after contracting a ‘form of typhoid or similar bacterial infection.’ The Sunday Telegraph reported that the 32-year-old US actor had been filming a survival show in Papua New Guinea where he went off-grid to “carve his own name in expedition history.”
Taking to Instagram on Sunday night, the High School Musical star wrote: ‘Very thankful to everyone who has reached out. ‘I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing 3 weeks in P.N.G.”
‘I’m home for the holidays with my friends and family. Thanks for all the love and concern, see you in 2020!’
Fans and friends flooded the post with warm wishes, with one saying: “Glad to hear you’re OK, gave us all a scare, hoping for a quick recovery🙏 ❤️ happy holidays brother” and another “May the holiday season bring only happiness and joy to you and your loved ones my friend.”
