Even the skies are not a limit for these Emirati women, and several others, that are being celebrated around the country today, the fifth Emirati Women’s day.
Emirates Airline has chosen a flying fleet of women to highlight their achievements and shed light on how strong ambitions and a great deal of hard work have resulted in them becoming an example for women all over. The video stars Hanan Mohamed, Bakhita AlMheiri, Ayesha Yousuf, Nouf Omar and Maryam bin Ismail.
As reported by The National, the airline employs more than 1,100 women in job roles that vary from flight operations, financial roles, engineering positions and so on.
“Emirati women are icons of tolerance, exemplifying the core values held by our community via their care, determination, ability to nurture future generations, and pursue success in their various fields of work,” said Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Emirates Airline and Group.
Dubai’s ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum also shared a heart-warming message on Twitter along with a video to celebrate the mothers, sisters, wives and daughters today. In addition, the entire country is sharing stories of women in various fields that have achieved great things and helped put UAE on the map, along with encouraging other women to truly purse their dreams.
This day was founded by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in 2015.
